Amend the land use ordinance to require any proposed cul-de-sac to build a pass through connection for bike and pedestrian to create passive bike street networks. An example would be the connection between Cobblestone Dr and Colfax.

A rails to trails of the current railroad track will connect outer neighborhoods to downtown Carrboro, unlike a path along Bolin creek that would connect those neighborhoods to Chapel Hill.

The functionality of a place as a port is foundational. The place lives and dies in direct relationship to how well it works as a port. Gov. is about Defense & Education. The town feels safer because its young people are well schooled. I suggest all parents teach something they know in our schools, at least for a day.

Cars can definitely share a little bit of the road so it is just for bikers and or pedestrians! Franklin street has done this and I think Main could as well. I also don't think it would be super expensive to add bollards. That way, bikers could feel safer, and people would be more inclined to bike, which is healthier and reduces CO2.
